I am Spudzilla hear me roar
It's been a couple of days, but here is the second part of my habit watching experiment. These are the annoying habits that I need to work on to really jump start my goal of getting into better shape.

1) Lack of Daily Exercise
I am a fairly active person. I am always running around at work getting things done, lifting boxes off shelves etc. I also play tennis every Sunday. The big problem I have is that I don't workout on a daily or semi daily basis. I always put it off and say that I don't have time or will put it off until later, which never happens. I don't have any issues with working out. I find it refreshing afterwards and find it to be a great stress reliever. My only issue is just going out and doing it! This is probably the easiest one to fix.

2) Snacking/sweet tooth

This has always been an issue with me. I've curbed the snacking habit at home, but at work it's a different story. Someone always buys candy or something that's not healthy and I'll munch on it. Not because I'm hungry, but because it's there! It's frustrating.

Working with a place that sells ice cream is bad too. I sample the ice cream too often. If I bring ice cream home, instead of getting a bowl of it, I've gotten into the bad habit of just eating out of the carton :/ I know there are alternatives to sweets, I just have to find them!

3) Lack of Sleep

My sleep schedule is messed up because of my work schedule. I close and stay up late one night and have to get up early the next. I stay up too late on the weekends hanging out with friends or playing video games. It has led to much less than the 7-8 hours that help me to feel refreshed at night. Work has already hurt my social life, so it's hard to balance in social life without sacrificing sleep.

Over the past month or so, I've gained a few good habits and noticed a lot of not so nice ones. I'm hoping to continue the ones that are healthy for me and try to modify or eliminate the poor ones.

Good Habits

1) Drinking lots of water - I have been drinking lots of water, so much in fact that I drink it more than anything else. I used to drink a lot of milk and juice, but now I am always getting water. It definitely hydrates me a lot better than the others do, and it helps me to feel fuller after I eat. The only drawback to this is my difference in consumption while at work compared to at home. I don't drink as much liquid at home for whatever reason, but it's something to improve.

2) Eating breakfast - I do it everyday! I used to never eat until lunch, but now I always have something.

3) Packing my lunch/dinner - I work at a convenience store and there is nothing healthy to eat there. For over a year I would buy sandwiches or eat ice cream, none of which are good for me. I'd also eat too much because I wasn't watching my portions. Now I bring a sandwich (usually 100% whole wheat) and a piece of fruit with something else for a snack later in my shift. I've been doing this on a consistent habit so that I now make time in my daily routine to do it!

Those are just a couple of the good habits that I've noticed myself doing which will help me to achieve my results later on. Either tomorrow or the next couple days I will post about some of the habits that are really hampering my efforts.

So I'm planning on getting my haircut tomorrow. I'm also considering getting a buzz cut...basically just to do something different and to let my hair grow a little. If it doesn't grow back I'll be boned, but I figure it is not the same boring old thing that I always do. So, good idea or bad idea or do you have a different suggestion?

Over the last couple of days, I've been doing a lot of thinking about various things. Just gonna write them here, see what other people think.

1) Dating

Being single is starting to get a bit lonely. Though I run into many obstacles with wanting to be in a relationship. First off is my oddball schedule at Stewart's. Second is money. Most girls want to spend a good chunk of time with you and like you to spend money on them. I have none really atm.

One idea comes from one of the online dating sites. They have a night were you have speed dates. You meet like 10 different people in one night. Might be an interesting way to meet some girls, but it also costs money.

Secondly, a girl that I work with at Stewart's that I've had a quasi-crush on is now single. This is probably the least possible because she is taking it a bit hard I think and I don't think that I am exactly her type. Might play this one by ear, who knows.

2) Job

Not exactly sure about Stewart's anymore. Didn't get the corporate job that I thought would be a lock. Now I'm stuck working in the store for $8.75. At the rate I'm going, I'll move out when I am 40 :/

I want to stay with the company because they had a seriously badass benefit program. However, since I got moved from closer to midshift, I'm getting less than 40 hours. So, now I am getting even less money. I think that I may have to start looking elsewhere when the fall comes. Either that or consider going back to school. I could continue trying to get my master's and continue on with teaching or take some classes and possibly start somewhere new. May have to cross that road when I get there (although, isn't that how I got here in the first place?)

3) Transportation

I am thinking about possibly getting a motorcycle. Yeah, you read that right. The only reason it is even crossing my mind is for gas mileage. The Lumina is doing pretty cruddy and gets expensive, but a bike would save on costs. Of course, there are two major pitfalls with this as well; cost of the bike and motorcycle insurance. Both I imagine aren't cheap. I'll do some research and see what I find.

There is good news though. Evgeni and I went to this wing place in Saratoga called Wings Over Saratoga...holy crap! They have 25 different flavors of wings and they taste really good. They aren't as good as Cheap Seats or Greene's in Oswego, but they come real close. They also give you a massive amounts of fries. More than two people can handle, but plenty for a certain fry addict that I know ;)

Gonna try to start writing a little more to help get my thoughts out. Might even copy/paste my diet journal. Here is a meme just to start things off though...

Ask me a question about EACH of the following:

- Friends
- Sex
- Music
- Religion
- Love
- Livejournal

Then post this in your journal and see what questions you get asked!

List 7 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words or even if they're not any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to in absolute random order.

Daughtry - Home
Vanessa Carlton - Heroes and Theives
The Allman Brothers - Jessica
Rob Thomas - Little Wonders
Finger Eleven - Paralyzer
Goo Goo DOlls - Stay With You
Augustana - Boston

Been super busy with work and school. Eventually I'll actually make a post. You know how that goes lol

Argh. I hurt my ankle yesterday somehow. Not only did I miss my class this morning, but I had to pass on going to TGA. Fucking sucks because I was looking forward to it.

At least it won't affect my ability to party. Thank goodness!

We all have things about our friends that make us slightly envious. Not in a bad way, but in a 'Wow! I wish I had that person's hair/eyes/money/relationship/toenails/whatever.'

So tell me what about me makes you envy me... then post this in your LJ and see what makes me envious of you.
